Threads have always intrigued me. I am facinated by the pliability of the different materials, like pencil's marks on a piece of paper they meander in space. they connect, diverge, knot, bend and twist at the touch of the hands or by using a simple tool as a needle or a crochet hook.
I grew up in an environment where women were expected to learn how to crochet, sew and weave in order to perform their domestic duties. After mastering these techniques I understood that my roots were also the inspiration of my art. The connection between my passion and the visual arts was also fueled by the knowledge I aquired while living in other countries like Mexico, Italy and the Usa.
My work is a blend of traditional craft techniques and alternative materials like wire and monofilament, which are combined to form engaging, dreamy and pleasant sculptures.
